What is "CAPTAIN TSUBASA"?
Captain Tsubasa is a football comic series created by Yoichi Takahashi, published in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1981. It follows the protagonist, Tsubasa Ozora, and his intense battles against his rivals on the pitch. The Captain Tsubasa series has been ongoing since 1981, and includes a number of spin-offs. The latest volume in the series, Captain Tsubasa Rising Sun FINALS, is currently being serialized on this website. Captain Tsubasa not only sparked a football craze in Japan, but also influenced many football players around the world. The Captain Tsubasa series has sold over 90 million copies in Japan.

Tsubasa usually wears the number 10, but also wears 28 (2+8) when playing for international football clubs. During elementary school, his position is center forward (CF), but changes to midfielder (MF) once he starts junior high school.
